Closets
Why would anyone be interested in the particulars of storage in a 13,000 SF building? Because it was a closet, or the promise of one, anyway, that tipped the scales and got me to this place. So, it is a particularly important milestone, to me, to have what I hope to be the second best closet of my life. There is still another, far better, closet in my future. I still expect to be using this one for a while, plus, it is good practice for the ultimate design!
Research was done, shoes and purses were counted, and the location of the wall between my closet and Tom’s was negotiated. I didn’t have to pull any dirty tricks, like bribing Franco to frame the wall further one way or another.
It is very easy to move the parts around, so we’ll have some flexibility once we start getting reacquainted with our stuff. It has been a year since we’ve opened most of the boxes so move in day will be our mini-Christmas.
It wasn’t just my closet that got fitted out. Tom’s closet isn’t as commodious as mine, but it is still larger than he has had before.
We also put shelving in the hall closet and the laundry room.

This is where we will store some of the larger cooking pots that don't fit in our cool, but small, retro cabinets
It is nice to be pondering things like where the pots will go. Now we just have to find where we put all the stuff!
I know it’s very exciting for the both of you, glad to see it all finally coming together.
Thanks! The closets might be all we have to offer for guest accomodations, for now. Unless you are up for indoor camping…
I’m envious of this one…I could probably live in the “permanent” one when it gets finished! Have fun unpacking 🙂
I think I will be living in the “permanent” one!
