Beginning to look like home

March 13, 2011

While yesterday we focused on getting sleeping quarters furnished, today we concentrated on clearing out anything that was left in the space that made it look like a construction site.

Ladders are all out, cart of tools put away, even the construction buckets used as trash cans are gone. It’s time to turn the room into a home, so we vacuumed and scrubbed the floors, and dug out our furnishings from storage – they’ve been under wraps for more than a year!

Before tonight, when we have been working down at BAB, we had to sit in plastic lawn chairs and use boxes as tables. We spent many a weekend lunches with Franco eating Panera sandwiches, sitting around white plastic buckets. It feels great to sit in our comfy familiar furniture again!

Thanks very much Jill – there is so much more to complete but having a small (relatively I guess) milestone feels great!

Hmmm… night off… what’s that? Yesterday was the first day in over a month where I didn’t wear safety glasses…

Yes – converting from “construction zone” to “home” made all the difference.
