Explaining ourselves

September 18, 2013

What do Betty Grable’s legs, Bruce Springsteen’s voice and Tony Polamalu’s hair have in common with the B.A.B.? Lloyds of London insures us. We’ve written a little bit about our challenges with obtaining insurance for our place. Well, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain insurance and explain what is going on with our project. Most of the policies we’ve had are really construction coverage. Entering year four, though, makes our construction schedule fall outside of most people’s understanding. The ‘F word’ again. Our 13,000 SF single family, one-bedroom residence built out of solid masonry and concrete doesn’t fall into the typical check boxes of insurance application forms, either. I guess that is what Lloyds it there for- a gamble on something outside the norm. We’re excited to be in such esteemed company! And, we are relieved to still have coverage.

They have a Big Ass Building, too.
