Permission granted.

August 5, 2010

Guess what?! We got our building permit today! We had to resubmit a week ago – the plan reviewer asked for some more detail and for our structural load calculations. Today, when I got the call that our resubmittal was approved, the reviewer also told me that he couldn’t actually stamp & sign it until he received our waiver from zoning. (Sue wrote about our zoning issues in this post.) BUT, zoning can’t give me the waiver until our permit is issued. Which came first – the chicken or the egg?

So I had to go over to City Hall (it’s just three blocks from my office) and talk with BOTH the plan reviewer and the zoning guy at the same time in the same room. Fortunately everything was cool, and after a few signatures, a notary, and lots of rubber stampings, I was sent off on my way.

I had to take a congratulatory photograph in front of our City Hall.

Hey Guys, That is really great news. Dad and I are really happy for both of you. (Although Dad still doesn’t understand why you wanted to leave your cute little Jackson home–you know he is rooting for you.) Love, Mom p.s. Besure to have those insurance cards handy now.
